Investigators looking for one suspect

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The body of a homeless man was found behind a gas station in Fort Pierce Saturday evening.

Officials with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office say the body of a homeless man was found behind a Shell gas station near U.S 1 and the Turnpike Feeder Rd. around 7 P.M Saturday.

Investigators say the man lived in the woods behind the gas station and frequently panhandled on the corner.

Someone who was used to seeing him noticed they hadn't seen him for several days.

They went to check on him in the woods and found his body.

Investigators say the body had likely been there for two days and had visible signs of trauma.

Investigators are considering this a homicide and are looking for one suspect.

Officials are asking for the public's help locating their suspect, James Adrian Westbery.

He is a 55-year-old white male, who is 6'2 and about 210 pounds. He has long brown hair that is possibly in a ponytail.

He was last seen wearing a ball cap, white shirt, blue jeans, and carrying a backpack.

He was also last seen in the southern part of Indian River County.

The St. Lucie County Sherrif's Office asks any one who has seen Westbery to immediately call 911.
