2 dead, 1 injured in Fort Pierce home invasion

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -  FORT PIERCE — Two people died and a third was injured during a home invasion in the 400 block of North 18th Street in Fort Pierce on Thursday night, according to the Fort Pierce Police Department.

Investigators say three unknown black males entered the residence and fired a weapon during a robbery shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday. 

Friday police said Fort Pierce residents Dontavis Albury, 30, and John Soloman, 66 died of gunshot wounds. It said Percell Derival, 24, was been hospitalized in stable condition.

Late Friday morning, investigators still were on the scene.

Neighbors were shocked by the violence.

They said a disabled veteran lived in the home and described him as a friendly person who helped out those around him. He lived with a younger family member in the home.

The shooting remains under investigation. Police are looking for leads and ask anyone with information to contact Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS (8477).
