Delray Beach police investigate death of wounded man dropped off at a fire station Friday

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Delray Beach police are investigating the death of a man that was dropped at a city fire station Friday afternoon with a wound to his head, said Sgt. Nicole Guerriero, spokeswoman for city police.

Ralph Baker died shortly after being dropped by two men around 2 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 501 W Atlantic Avenue, Guerriero said. The cause of his death is unknown, she said.

Baker was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and no shoes at the time of his death.

Witnesses told police that the men who dropped off Baker could have driven a Chevy Caprice or a similar large, four-door sedan.

The men who dropped Baker left before police officers arrived on scene.
