Delray Beach house fire displaces nine people; dog saved with oxygen

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Nine people were evacuated after a house fire Wednesday night in Delray Beach.

At 8:58 p.m., Delray Beach emergency crews responded to the fire in the 500 block of Coral Way in the Delray Shores neighborhood.

Crews found smoke and fire in a bedroom when they arrived at the single-family home.

The flames were knocked down by 9:10 p.m. but caused extensive damage and displaced nine people.

Seven people were home when the fire started, but no one was hurt.

One dog was rescued from the home by fire crews. The dog was initially lethargic but was given oxygen by firefighters and reunited with its owners.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
