Campus police are investigating an armed robbery at a student apartment on the Florida Atlantic campus in Boca Raton.
BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Police are looking for three men they say are responsible for an armed robbery Monday night at a student's on campus apartment.
The FAU Police Department said it received a report of an alleged armed robbery on the second floor of the University Village Apartments at about 8:30 p.m.
Investigators said three Hispanic men, one of them armed with a handgun, entered a student's second floor apartment.
The robbers took cash and electronics from the room, said authorities.
At noon, a person of interest was being interviewed in the case. Deputy Chief Sean Brammer said this was not a random attack and the victim was specifically targeted.
"Robberies, a shooting, I was shocked to hear something happened again," said Dylan Rogero, a student who lives in the complex.
This is the second reported armed robbery in the last month. Deputy Chief Brammer says there have been at least four armed robberies at FAU in the last five years, three coming just in the last year.
FAU police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 561-297-3500.
University police sent an email alerting all FAU students Tuesday morning of the robbery. The email included tips on being vigilante. It asked students to report any suspicious people or activity.
