Stuart Sailfish Regatta: Boston bombings prompt extra security at boat races this weekend

MCSO will have a command center on site

STUART, Fla. - The bombings in Boston have prompted authorities in Stuart to beef up security for the annual Stuart Sailfish Regatta boat races this weekend.

The security team for the event and the Martin County Sheriff's Office are working together.
The sheriff's office is also cooperating with city officials, fire rescue and race authorities to make sure spectators have a safe and fun experience.
They'll also have a command center on site during the event.
Promoters said between 10,000 to 15,000 people are expected to attend this weekend's races. Many spectators will watch the races either from the bridge or from their boats.
Authorities will shut the Ernie Lyons bridge tonight at 7. It will remain closed through Sunday until 9 p.m.
