John Fey ousted Jensen Beach coach update: Told team to play like cold-blooded killers documents say

MARTIN COUNTY — Martin County School District officials plan to release late today documents relating to the investigation on former Jensen Beach High School football coach John Fey.

The School Board last week approved a settlement that included a five-day suspension without pay and reassignment for Fey.

Fey, who was in his fourth season with the Falcons, resigned from his positions as dean of students and football coach Sept. 4 amid a School District investigation prompted by unspecified allegations regarding his conduct as a coach. He said in an emailed statement he used "inappropriate language" while trying to motivate his team during a practice on Sept. 2.

Documents released by Fey's attorney R.J. Ferraro include statements Fey's former football players gave to investigators about language he used during the team meeting and how he wanted the team to play like "cold-blooded killers," according to the statements.

The documents released by Ferraro also include a collection of many letters supporting Fey.
