West Palm Beach police investigate bomb threat aboard Tri-Rail train

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Tri-Rail train bound for Mangonia Park from Hialeah was stopped at the West Palm Beach station on Tamarind Avenue Thursday evening after police received reports of a bomb threat aboard the train, said Bonnie Arnold, spokeswoman for Tri-Rail.

Forty passengers aboard the train were evacuated while the bomb squad and K-9 officers inspected the train as well as the locomotive , said Capt. David Bernhardt, spokesman for city police.

Nothing was found and the passengers were allowed to board the train around 7:52 p.m., Arnold said. She said the train departed shortly after and arrived without any further incident at its final destination in Mangonia Park.

The incident delayed the arrival of the train in Mangonia Park about an hour, Arnold said.
