Toys for Tots in need of donations

Stretching every cent to buy Christmas gifts for four children can be challenging for Tiffany Allgaier.

"You try to budget all year and see what you are able to spend in December and things are just getting more expensive," said Tiffany.

Now she is getting help from Toys For Tots warehouse at the Martin County Fairgrounds.

The mother of four told NewsChannel 5, "It really helps because you can focus on the kids and spending time with them. Not stressing if you are going to have enough money to make the bills or you don't want to get in debt to make an enjoyable holiday for them."

Tiffany is among 3,000 families in Martin County who will have gifts under the tree, thanks to the program. Games, toys and even bicycles have been donated.

Parents like Tiffany use this paper to know what they can shop for. As they are pushing their shopping cart with the shopper, they are able to look at the wall and see which toys they can pick out.

Within 20 minutes, Tiffany is done with her shopping and is ready to see her kids smile next week.

"They are not expecting to see a lot, so when they wake up and see that, it will make their day." And Tiffany will be smiling too. "More than grateful it wouldn't be a Christmas morning without what they do."

Friday is the last day for families in need to pick up the toys at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
