Interstate 95 South repoening in Boynton Beach

Southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 95 are open in Boynton Beach after flooding.

Northbound lanes opened around 6:15 a.m.

In Lantana, the on-ramp is closed on I-95 South at Hypoluxo Road. In Boynton Beach, the on-ramp is still closed on I-95 South at Gateway Boulevard.

There is major flooding throughout Boynton Beach.  About 40 vehicles became disabled overnight and need to be towed.

There is heavy flooding on Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue.

The National Weather Service has reported that the maximum rainfall totals have exceeded 12 inches near Boynton Beach.


Northbound and southbound I-95, standing water: Watch for standing water from S.R. 70 in St. Lucie County to Fellsmere Road in Indian River County, the FHP warns.


Indian River Drive: A 9-mile stretch of Indian River Drive was washed away in St. Lucie County, from the 4400 block to the Martin County line where a big area of the roadway collapsed south of Midway Road.

Also, Indian River Drive is closed at the 2600 block (south of Savannah Road) because of the embankment collapsing. The Fort Pierce Public Works and Engineering Department is evaluating the road conditions.

Okeechobee Road is closed from the 3300 to 3500 blocks in St. Lucie County.

A1A at Indiantown Road in Jupiter is closed.
