Woman, 2 teens dead on Pershing Way in West Palm Beach; appears to be murder-suicide, police say

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - West Palm Beach police say a woman and two teenagers, a boy and a girl, have been found dead south of downtown in what appears to be a murder suicide.

Police say they were called at 8:06 Monday morning to 212 Pershing Way and found the three bodies inside a home.

The call came from an ex-husband of a woman living at the residence.

Property records show the house is owned by Jennifer Berman. Police say an adult female and 16-year-old Alexander Berman and 15-year-old Jacqueline Berman were found inside. (Photo below)

Police say all three died of gunshot wounds.

Alex played the cello and his sister Jacqueline played the violin. Both attended the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

The Palm Beach County School District confirmed that two of its students were affected by tragedy and they sent grief counselors to the school.

"It is hard to fathom this type of thing after living here and knowing the kids and the mother and father. To hear this type of thing is just beyond comprehension," said family friend Brian McManus.

Police say the woman in the home said she was going to harm herself or other family members in an email sent Monday morning to her ex-husband and other relatives. Her ex-husband, and the teen's father, is Realtor Richard Berman.

Police say he found the bodies after receiving the email from his ex-wife.

"At the moment he is being interviewed... we don't believe he is a suspect in the case. There were electronic messages being passed from one of the decedents in the home to other family members," West Palm Beach Police Sergeant David Lefont said.

Police say there is no threat to the community and they are not looking for a suspect.
