WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner and officials with the county and the Florida Department of Health addressed the public Sunday afternoon regarding possible effects of coronavirus in Palm Beach County.
"At this time there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Palm Beach County," Kerner said.
However, the Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed that one man who attended a Feb. 28 conference held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach tested positive for coronavirus.

That individual was in the Biogen vendor booth in the exhibitor's area only.
The Florida Department of Health advises that only individuals who were in close contact with that individual at the vendor booth would be affected.
The convention center has released the following statement:
"We are unaware of any events that may have been compromised. It is the highest priority of the Palm Beach County Convention Center and Discover The Palm Beaches to ensure the health and safety of our visitors and employees. As we continue to closely monitor the situation, we remain focused on enhanced daily cleaning of the building and preventative measures in the front and back-of-house, which include touch points such as door handles, elevator buttons, escalator handrails, and bathrooms. We are also working closely with the Palm Beach County health department and following their guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests.
There is no disruption of services at the convention center.
