PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.-- Thousands of homes could be at risk of chronic flooding within the next 30 years and tens of thousands could be at risk within the next century, according to a recent report by the Union of Concerned Scientists.

Broker Marshall Sklar gets quite a few calls about this issue.
"Every single day we get inquiries, clients asking are you scared of rising water," said Sklar.
The Union of Concerned Scientists' study shows more than 2,000 homes from Boca Raton to Jupiter are at risk of chronic flooding within the next 30 years.
"We are preparing for that risk," said Megan Houston, Palm Beach County's Director of the Office of Resilience.
She says the county is being proactive in taking sea-level rise into account.
"County is working on those sea-level projections and our capital improvements plan so we're creating infrastructure that has 50 years or above lifespan," said Houston.
