Kelvin Paulk identified as man killed in Riviera Beach shooting, Rackelle Hutchins injured

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - A domestic dispute Wednesday between a woman's current boyfriend and ex-boyfriend resulted in one person dead and another hurt in Riviera Beach.

Shots were fired just before 8 p.m. at an apartment at 1141 West 31st Street, according to police.

Investigators confirm that Kelvin Paulk, 27, was killed in the incident. The victim's girlfriend,  Rackelle Hutchins, 29, was injured in the shooting and is being treated at an area hospital. She's listed in stable condition.

Children were at the home when

The shooting happened at the home of Hutchins and children were present but not hurt.

Investigators said the woman's ex-boyfriend, Jared Govan, 25, called police after the incident and agreed to come in for questioning.

Police say their investigation revealed that there was a verbal dispute inside the apartment concerning the children. They say the argument became heated and shots were fired.

Police say Govan, described as Hutchins' former boyfriend, said he fired in self-defense after Paulk displayed a weapon.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the shooting and no one has been arrested.
