Police seek help locating "vehicle of interest"

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - Riviera Beach police have identified the victim of Wednesday's motel shooting and released photos of a "vehicle of interest" sought in the homicide in the 3600 block of West Blue Heron Boulevard.

Chris Weary, 44, of West Palm Beach, was found in a white Pontiac on the south side of the Travelodge motel at 3651 West Blue Heron Boulevard and pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, believed to have been a passenger in the Pontiac, was found  shot a short distance away at 3621 West Blue Heron and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, said Rose Anne Brown, spokeswoman for city police.

A black Dodge Durango was observed entering the property and parking shortly before the shooting happened, Brown said. She said the Durango is seen exiting the property immediately after the shooting.

Riviera police initially believed that a female patient who was at a local hospital the day of the shooting may have been involved, but on Thursday they said she had no connection to the crime.

Anyone with information about the shooting, or the black Dodge Durango, is asked to contact Riviera Beach Police at (561) 845-4123 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
