15 new artificial reef modules were donated to that snorkel trail off Phil Foster park by the Andrew 'Red' Harris Foundation.
The modules are specifically designed to attract ocean wildlife like fish, corals, and sponges. The modules have all the nooks and crannies for marine animals to hide and make a home.
The modules were added to the snorkel trail Thursday in about 10 feet of water. They are easy for people of all ages to enjoy and watch grow.
Scott Harris and his wife Martha were on hand for the deployment and commented on how great they look underwater.
They thanked Artistic Stone Company of Jupiter for creating such artful pieces and Palm Beach County ERM for letting them find a home in the snorkel trail.
The snorkel trail is tucked away in a safe, calm area of the Intracoastal Waterway between Peanut Island and the Blue Heron Bridge.
To access it park at Phil Foster Park, and walk under the bridge to the beach facing south. The area has lifeguards and is free of boat traffic.
The best time to go is during higher tides when the clear water flows in through the nearby inlet.
