Roof damage, trees down in Palm Beach County

At 7 am Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reported reports of a possible tornado touching down in the Loxahatchee area near 130th and Tangerine and also near 76th Rd N.

Fire Rescue reports a confirmed Trauma Alert patient after a tree fell through the roof of a home.

Tree limbs and power lines are down in The Acreage. At 130th Avenue and Orange Boulevard homes have been damaged.

"I woke up in my room, it sounded like a train coming through and all the trees going everywhere. I ran out the room to get my little sister and my mom already got her and put her in the room with no windows. I mean we've had hurricanes and damage but nothing like this." Kyle Powell said.

Along Temple Boulevard, fences are damaged, pools screens have been ripped apart, and tiles are missing from roofs. Strong winds ripped the tops off some palm trees and power lines are sagging.  Windows are shattered in the neighborhood and screen porches have been torn apart.

The National Weather Service has dispatched a survey team from Miami to The Acreage and Belle Glade.

They will be able to tell if or where a tornado occurred or if straight line winds caused damage in the area.

The Red Cross says Disaster Response Teams have been activated across the region. County officials have requested support in Western Palm Beach County because of roof damage reports.

Red Cross Disaster Assessment Teams are on standby.
