Authorities identify victims of murder-suicide in Lake Worth

Couple had recently ended their relationship

Authorities have identified the victims of an apparent murder-suicide in Lake Worth as 35-year-old Gabriel Ferrarotti and Leopold Azplazu, 32, according to Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Barbera said that Ferrarotti was shot dead in his Lake Worth home by Azplazu, who then turned the gun on himself.

Deputies found the two men around noon on Wednesday inside Ferrarotti's home in the 100 block of South Lake Side Drive. They had gone to the home to check on Ferrarotti, who had not shown up for work.

The investigation revealed that Ferrarotti and Azplazu had been in a relationship for about 11 years but had recently broken up. Friends of Ferrarotti told detectives Azplazu was supposed to have moved out of the apartment Tuesday evening.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a grisly discovery in Lake Worth.

Deputies found two deceased males inside a home in the 100 block of South Lake Side Drive.

It appears to be a murder/suicide, investigators say. Both men had gunshot wounds.

Several neighbors said that the two young men who lived in the house were in a long-term relationship and that one of them recently asked the other to move out.

The neighbors also said one of them had a gun.

One neighbor who knew them well can't believe it. "It's stunning. If you knew them like I know them, like I said they are so mellow, so laid back, so giving, so caring. I would never, ever imagine," said Dee Weeks.

Investigators have not yet released the identities of the two men.
