Steven Barnes: Driver accused in deadly accident had revoked license

There are still no charges

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - According to state documents, the man investigators say hit and killed a three year old with his car in Lake Worth Monday should not have been driving.

Documents show Steven Barnes' license was permanently revoked in 1996 after a series of run ins with the law and DUIs.

Investigators still have not pressed charges after three year old Priscilla Perez-Gaspar died after getting hit by the vehicle.

"There is a lengthy process and a special investigative team that goes out to gather all the evidence," Brian Fernandez with the State Attorney's Office said.

According to the State Attorney's Office, Barnes served over a week in jail in 2008 for driving with a revoked license.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says they are waiting on toxicology reports that could take over a month.
