Heather Kelly of Ft Pierce charged with Atlantis Chevron robbery
Police are searching for a woman who crawled through a counter window to rob an Atlantis Chevron.
ATLANTIS, Fla. - Heather Kelly of Fort Pierce is being held in the Martin County Jail in connection with the robbery of the Chevron Station in Atlantis on Tuesday according to Atlantis police.
The Florida Highway Patrol stopped Kelly for speeding as she drove north on I-95 in Martin County and arrested her on a warrant from another Florida county.
Kelly admitted to an Atlantis detective that she was the person who robbed the store, police said.
Police say that Kelly entered the store at 5965 S. Congress Avenue around 4:28 am Tuesday morning.
The clerk, according to police, was not aware that Kelly had climbed through the counter window and opened the cash drawer.
Police say the woman took large dollar bills. The clerk tried to grab her after he saw her at the register, however she kicked him and got away.
Police says that Kelly lost both of her sandals as she struggled with the clerk.
