Firefighters find two dogs in abandoned mobile home in Suburban West Palm Beach Sunday morning

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Fire rescue crews found two dogs in an abandoned mobile home fire in suburban West Palm Beach on Sunday morning, said Captain Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

One of the dogs died, but the other dog was transported to a twenty-four hour animal hospital by a neighbor, Borroto said.

Firefighters responded to a call of a fire in the 4700 block of Sunset Ranch Road around 8:19 a.m.

The caller told authorities that the home behind hers was on fire, said Borroto.

When rescue crews arrived on the scene, neighbors told them the mobile home was abandoned.

Shortly after fire crews began to attack the blaze, they found the two dogs inside the home.

Rescue crews tried to resuscitate both dogs, but only one survived, said Borroto.

An investigator has been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Additional information is not available at this time.
