TSA commenting: Transportation Security Administration opens public commenting on full-body scanners

People have been upset about them for nearly five years, and now, the public can tell the Transportation Security Administration how they really feel about those full-body scanners.

A 90-day court ordered commenting period has started on the website, regulations.gov.

The TSA has received over 600 comments so far. Complaints range from privacy to health concerns.

The most common comment is that the scanners violate the Fourth Amendment, which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures.

"The use of body scanners and the intrusive body searches on the part of TSA is, in spirit, if not in law, a violation of the rights of every American citizen and should be stopped," one person wrote.
