'Bound woman' tailgate decal stirs controversy in Texas

WACO, TX. - A provocative pickup truck tailgate decal is raising eyebrows in Texas and causing a stir online.

At a glance, the full-size computer-generated decal makes it appear a woman is tied up in the pickup bed.

But a closer look that the optical illusion is simply a decal, and there is no woman in distress.

The decal is the handy work of Hornet Signs, a marketing and advertising company in Waco, Texas, according to KWTX TV.

According to Brad Kolb, the owner of the company, the sticker was put on an employee's truck to gauge how realistic their decals are.

"I wasn't expecting the reactions we got, nor do we condone this by any means," Kolb told KWTX TV. "It was more or less something we put out there to see who noticed it."

He said an employee volunteered to be tied up and was photographed, so the decal could be made.

Kolb says his company has seen an influx in tailgate decal orders since the sticker has hit the streets a month ago.
