TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Tired of your high electric bill in the summer? The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services wants to help you make your home more energy efficient. You can analyze your current energy usage and find energy-efficient products to reduce that cost with the state's "
My Florida Home Energy" tool.
The interactive website launched today. The site uses information you provide and publicly available data to determine products, improvements, and modifications that may be helpful. The results are ranked by cost and anticipated savings.
Depending on where you live, there may be rebates or special financing available to reduce energy efficient costs. You don't even need to input your specific energy usage data to find that out. All you need is your zip code.
A law in 2012 required the state create this website.
