Do you ever open your mouth because you have an idea and then suddenly you have a giant project on your hands? Well, that's what just happened to me and I'm delighted.
I've been volunteering for Susan G Komen South Florida for about a decade. The other day the Executive Director, Kate Watt, mentioned that August is a very slow month for donations. I saw signs at the spin class that I go to that say they will do charity rides, and so here we are, Cycle For The Cure was born. (awkward sigh) and now I need your help. LOL.
So what's cool is we are funding specific things in South Florida. A team of 4 riders will fund two mammograms, a single rider will fund an education workshop, and an elite team will fund a diagnostic service.
I love this high energy spin class because it has great music, exciting prizes, a little friendly competition and some yummy treats. All levels of riders are invited to participate!
