WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A teen was shot and killed during a reported burglary, according to West Palm Beach police.
Investigators say a homeowner told them that he came home for lunch and noticed an open window but went inside anyway. He told them he found a juvenile in his room going through his gun collection.
He says when the teen pointed a weapon at him they began wrestling. Police say the homeowner then said he managed to get a gun and shoot the intruder several times.
The suspect was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead, according to West Palm Beach police.
Police say the juvenile had a prior criminal history and was thought to be on probation.
The shooting happened in the 700 block of 57th Street.
