Meteorological winter is over, and parts of the area received record rainfall this season.

It was one of the wettest seasons we've had since the 1997 - 1998 season.

Many remember that year well; it too was active due to El Nino.

This year was the wettest ever in Vero Beach, and the third wettest in West Palm.

Miami (20.26") and Miami Beach (19.15") both set new records this year as well. The record broken in Miami was set way back in 1905.

Fort Lauderdale (17.07") had its 3rd wettest winter, and Naples (10.34") had its 7th wettest.

Meteorological winter runs from Dec. 1 to Feb. 28 (29th this year because of Leap Day); meteorological spring runs from March 1 to May 31.

The forecast for March calls for above-average precipitation and average temperatures.
