Debby not moving, expected to drift for a couple days

Rain and wind impacts all of Florida

Tropical Storm Debby continues to drift in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.  Max  winds are 60mph.  It is spreading torrential rains, gusty winds and tornadoes across the south Florida peninsula.  Debbie will move very little over the few days.  Finally drifting northward toward the Florida panhandle by the end of the week.

There is still a chance that future tracks will trend even farther east.  Stay tuned for more details.

Atmospheric conditions will become a little more favorable for strengthening and Debbie could approach hurricane strength before making landfall.

The deep tropical moisture moving in from the south will keep the Florida peninsula wet for a couple of days, until the storm can move far enough away.
