Tropical Depression 5 forms, Florida not in error cone next 5 days

A tropical disturbance labeled Invest 99L has been upgraded to a tropical depression by the National Hurricane Center. This will be the 5th of the season.

It is quite possible that this disturbance could become Tropical Storm Ernesto over the next couple days.

The storm is forecast to slowly strengthen over the next 5 days, reaching hurricane strength by day 5 near Jamaica.

The long range track of this disturbance is a little up in the air right now, but it appears that it will either swing up over the Bahamas by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week (staying east of Florida), or travel across the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico ending up near Texas by the end of next week.

As of right now, it does not appear to be anything we need to be concerned about it, but as usual we will keep our eyes on it and keep you up to date.
