There are a lot of questions and concerns surrounding what's going on in the tropics right now.

One question is: What happens if my car is damaged by debris like a tree limb?

Marisol Vazquez with AC Insurance Services says the damage will be covered by your auto insurance, but only if you have chosen the right coverage.

"Your vehicle will be covered only if you have comprehensive and collision coverage," said Vazquez.

This type of coverage isn't automatically applied to your vehicle, you have to ask for it when you sign up for auto insurance, she said.

"It's not required by the state of Florida to get comprehensive and collision unless you're financing your vehicle," she said.

If you want to change your coverage, she said you must do so before the state is in the predicted path of a named storm.
