Tropical Storm Debby: Palm Beach County, Treasure Coast in cone

Tropical Storm Debby goes continues moving toward Florida's Panhandle.

At 5 p.m. on Monday, the storm was in the northern Gulf of Mexico about 45 miles south, southwest of Apalachicola with sustained winds of 45 mph. It's moving NE at 5 mph.

The expansive system continues to drench much of Florida and could produce 10 to 15 inches of rain over the eastern section of the Panhandle. Some areas could be swamped with up to 25 inches, forecasters said.

At 11 a.m. Monday the National Hurricane Center included much of South Florida in the cone of error.

NewsChannel 5 Meteorologist Glenn Glazer says it's possible by the end of the week that parts of South Florida could experience tropical depression or tropical storm conditions.
