A high risk of rip currents remains in effect through Sunday evening

PALM BEACH, Fla. - A high risk for rip currents remains in effect through Sunday evening for coastal Palm Beach according to the National Weather Service statement on their website.

Swimming at the Atlantic beaches will continue to be hazardous due to the presence of strong rip currents.

Yesterday, Beach advisory signs on Palm Beach read that current was moving south.

Life guards displayed yellow warning flags yesterday in some area beaches, which indicate a medium hazard.

No incidents were reported,  but according to public safety officials, lifeguards were called to assist struggling swimmers more than 50 times since last Saturday.
