Accidents in Lake Worth area of I-95 NB has traffic slowed this morning 09/17/13
Two accidents involving multiple vehicles has traffic slowing on I-95 northbound between 6th Avenue and 10th Avenue in Lake Worth.
LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach man was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 North on Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred between Sixth and Tenth avenues in Lake Worth at about 5:40 a.m, causing major traffic delays much of the morning.
A Freightliner T/T, driven by Donnie W. Phillips, 37, of Winter Haven, Fla.,. was legally stopped and unoccupied within the center emergency lane.
Phillips had stopped to check on a driver from a previous crash.
At the same time, Roger E. Coenen, 68, was driving northbound on I-95.
For unknown reasons, Coenen lost control of his car and began to spin counter-clockwise.
The right side of Coenen's car struck the rear of the Freightliner. Coenen was pronounced dead at the scene.
