WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Drivers should plan for a longer commuter in certain areas of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County this week because of road construction.
The work will occur between Vero Beach and Fort Pierce on US1 at the Indian River-St. Lucie County Line.
Crews are reconstructing an overpass at the county line and widening the highway between Florida's Turnpike feeder road and Oslo Road.
The Florida Department of Transportation says traffic will be down to one lane in both directions at times.
FDOT will also be improving the drainage in Lantana this week. One northbound lane of US1 from Sterns Street to Lake Worth Avenue could be closed between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Delray Beach drivers will also encounter road construction.
One lane in each direction of A1A/Ocean Boulevard at Atlantic Avenue could be closed Monday through Friday of this week during the day.
