The Single Fin Showdown held on Stuart Beach helps raise money for the United Way of Martin County

STUART, Fla. -- One of the largest single-day amateur surf contests is being held this weekend on Stuart Beach and it helps raise money for the United Way of Martin County.

It's called the Single Fin Showdown.  Ohana Surf Shop helps put it all together.

What makes this competition so unique is the fact that surfers are paired up with vintage, single-fin boards at random before heading into the water.

Now in its 5th year, the Showdown has raised more than $20,000 for the United Way in its first four years.
