If you are into wakeboarding, this is the event for you!! The Pros and Joes event at Okeeheelee park in west palm beach is on again! This is their 6th year running, and it's Saturday November 10th from 8-5pm.
From their web page: http://www.pros-n-joes.com/
The nonprofit South Florida Wake Association puts on the Pros-n-Joes Event, created by the founder Jimmy Beno. This years directors Kimberlee and Rishy Rajoo have taken over the reigns, with Troy Wynne as contest director. They guarantee a festival feel for this high energy family day!
The event is designed to give amateur wake riders in South Florida the opportunity to not only meet pro-level wakeboarders and wakeskaters but to ride with them as well. It is also an opportunity to make Palm Beach County relevant in wake related sports. The SFWA is dedicated to this purpose, with wakeboarding in the 2020 Olympics in mind. Our intention each year is to make this a family event that will attract both hard-core wake enthusiasts and the casual observers. The event will be marketed aggressively through social media and print, a large number of spectators is expected throughout the day. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Surfers for Autism.
The Pros-n-Joes Event is a unique concept in the world of competitive wakeboarding and wakeskating. Pulled behind the industry's best wakeboarding boats from South Florida Mastercraft. For each pro rider, there will be three local amateurs that will make up the pro riders "team". Pros that have committed to this year's event are Nick Taylor, Rusty Malinosky, Shawn Watson, Tara Mikacich, Scott Stewart, Steel Lafferty, Josh Palma, JD Webb, Adam Errington, Julian Cohen, Andrew Shearer. This year wakeskaters will have their own teams at pros-n-joes
Stand Up Paddle board demonstrations. Food vendors will be on hand. As for the "land" portion of the Pros-n-Joes Event, the park will host activities for one & all, such as a bounce house and obstacle course sponsored by South Florida Bounce and Slide, skateboard ride sponsored by DonkBoards.com, displaying local talent shredding the course. Bands KayaVibe, Hor!zen and The Hard Richards, a live drummer dj Andrew Shearer will be jamming. There will also be giveaways, raffles and other events (autograph booth, etc.) for those not riding or enjoying the pro demos.
