Juno Beach, Fla. - The legend himself is touring around the state of Florida, armed with a guitar and ukulele, (surfboard not too far out of sight). Tom Curren will be bringing his soulful, upbeat, catchy tunes to lucky Floridians through the month of November.
"I just play pretty much the type of music I like to listen to, some rock, folk, reggae influence, even a bit of surf style guitar at some points," he explained.
Curren has a smooth style, just like his surfing.
"I try to have songs that air fairly straight forward and just play them the way I play them and so what I like to do and hopefully people like it," he said.
He's not giving up his board for a mic though. The surfing icon is still very much stoked to be out in the water any and every change he gets.
"Surfing, I am still very much passionate, I surf for a living still which I'm very grateful for," he said.
In fact, you may see him at local breaks across the state.
"I've surfed here before and we got a couple waves, but I'm sure there were better waves somewhere else," said Curren.
There's even been a rumor Curren will enter the Jupiter Fall Classic Pro Surf Contest - Palm Beach County's biggest surfing event.
Despite not having world class waves here, this world class surfer is excited to share his music.
"Music is something that is a growing thing for me now," Curren continued. "I've been really fortunate to have the time to learn how to play guitar."
Curren won't be alone, he has teamed up with Juno Beach's local surfer/singer/songwriter William Kimball and the Hit$how .

Curren and Kimball make a great match. Kimball's outgoing personality counters Curren's shy demeanor.
"To be able to play with guys that play really well, that's like super fun," said Curren.
Curren and Kimball kicked off their tour with an intimate night of music for a select few at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center .
Nature and the environment are important to Curren, and he's happy to help.
"Any time I can participate in something to help good causes like this, I try to be involved," he said.
An avid traveler, Curren just got back from California, after his buddy, Kelly Slater's amazing 11th world title win.
"I was at his party when he won. It was amazing, wow, here's ten, here's nine, and he said ‘here's one more for the heck of it," said Curren.
