A surfer came to the rescue of a drowning sea turtle recently.
The loggerhead was tangled in fishing line, just south of the Cocoa Beach pier.
The turtle's flippers were so entangled that it could be seen gasping for air as it struggled to free itself from the mono-filament.
The surfer-- risking a possible bite from the animal -- patiently removed the fishing line. The turtle swam away, and the surfer caught the next wave.
