SeaWorld Orlando caring for its first sandhill crane chick of the year

According to WKMG in Orlando, the aviculture team at SeaWorld Orlando is now caring for its first sandhill crane chick of the year.

The orphaned chick was turned in by a concerned resident, and was quickly paired with an accepting adult crane so it can learn specific crane behaviors.

Veterinarians say the baby was 3 or 4 days old when it was found and is in perfect health. They say it is thriving now.

The plan is to one day to return both cranes to their natural habitat together once the chick has grown the feathers it needs to fly.
