How beachgoers may accidentally harm turtle nests

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - If you're on the beach in Palm Beach County this weekend, don't be surprised if you're approached by an FWC officer.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be patrolling the beaches, educating people about protecting our nesting sea turtles. They'll be explaining the unintended consequences of disturbing turtles or their nests, and the laws that protect them.

You can always report such incidents by calling 888-404-FWCC or *FWC from your cell phone.
