MIAMI, Fla.-- The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs Thursday night during game seven of the NBA Finals. The final score was 95-88. The Heat won the series while on their home court at the American Airlines Arena.
The win was celebrated by both Heat players and fans across South Florida. On Twitter, photos showed Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and former Heat coach Pat Riley celebrating at a South Beach nightclub.
Meanwhile, fans took to the streets to show their support. Many brought out their pots and pans to make noise and chant for the team. Ryan Guerra, a Heat fan, says "Everybody from the fans to the players were ready to party. South Beach style. That's why they brought their talents to South Beach. I think they wanted to party as well."
Guerra wasn't out till the early morning hours celebrating like many others. With a nine month old child at home he had to keep things calm. Guerra says, "I have a nine month old daughter, so I had to keep it pretty low. So I was jumping up and down, but silently."
Fans will be celebrating the win over the weekend and into next week. A parade will be rolling down the streets of downtown Miami Monday morning, starting at 11 a.m. A rally will be held at the American Airlines Arena after the parade, but you must have tickets to attend the event.
