Martin County North All-Stars lose to South Nashville 5-1

WARNER ROBBINS, Ga. - A Treasure Coast little league team came up short today in its bid to make it to the Little League World Series.

The Martin County North All-Stars lost to a team from Nashville, Tennessee 5-1 in its first nationally-televised game.

Martin County North wanted to be the first Treasure Coast team in the Little League World Series.

Through their journey they've learned lessons of teamwork, hard work and perseverance..

But coming off the field for the final time they face a lesson: Dealing with disappointment.

Families who have been along for the ride were there to show support.

Their manager Mark Rodgers said the team made more errors today than any game this summer.  "I'm mortally disappointed for the boys…. boys who just bought in to the plan of hard, dedication, and let's do something nobody's ever done and they did that."

"It's just a baseball game we lost it, even though it's our last game as 12-year-olds.  So, we just got to, maybe, I wish we could do it all over again but we can't," player Dominick Thompson said.

The championship game Thursday sends a southeastern team to the World Series. The Martin County North All Stars leave knowing they worked hard and made it farther than many.
