PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - When Carl Mittler wakes up he doesn’t have to go far to get his Honda Classic fix. It happens just past his backyard. "It's wonderful I get up with a cup of coffee. I watched Phil Mickelson pass by here a little while ago."
He can't help but smile as he watches play at multiple holes only feet away from his kitchen. "12th tee, 11th green, right beyond that over there is the fifth and sixth."
He's renting the condo with the great golf view for a couple months before he heads back to New York. He says his own private area to watch the Honda Classic is so good he plans rent it again next year.
"It's my first time to sit through The Honda Classic and I'm enjoying it very much."
One hazard of living along the golf course is the threat that a player could put a ball into your house. Mittler says the pros have not done that.
