World Cup: Fans prepare to watch today's USA-Germany match

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - As the United States take on Germany in the World Cup Thursday, fans across Palm Beach County are already finding their seat for watch parties.

Kira Winston, 10, and Ashley Labbe, 11, became fast friends at City Soccer's ASAF Sports Camp.  The two say they are good friends.  They met two days ago, but they both have a love for soccer.

"It's almost like a family to support you when you're playing," explained Labbe.

The best part, according to Winston, "Going to the finals and scoring a goal and having your teammates congratulate you on something."

Players on Team USA would likely agree.

Watch parties are being planned across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, including at City Soccer.

"We can dress up as crazy as we want and root for USA tomorrow, we're playing Germany," said Winston.

At O'Shea's Pub on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach has been packed during the other games U.S.A. has played.

"We've been packed all week long, everybody's been asking questions, nonstop phone calls all week," said David Power, a bartender at O'Shea's.

The establishment is adding five televisions, as Power says people have been packed in, even standing on chairs to get a good look at the screen.  This game, Power says, is going to be even bigger.

"People already telling us, they're going to take long lunches, take the day off, call in sick," he laughed.

It's an Irish pub bringing excitement to a local pub.

"It's a way of life back home, over here we're bringing it with us. So people are kind of feeding off that, the energy is great," he said.

Along the shoreline at Benny's on the Beach, the sparkling waters smash against another watch location.

"U.S.A. definitely pulls a huge crowd," said one of the owners of the restaurant, Jeremy Hanlon.

There are more televisions, drink specials and prizes being set up for Thursday's excitement.

"We've got standing room crowds, around the edges and we want everyone to get a really good seat," he said.
