Chad Johnson, wife Evelyn Lozada dispute: Miami Dolphins' Karlos Dansby not happy with loss of Chad

Miami Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby isn't happy the team released embattled receiver Chad Johnson.

Dansby said on The Sid Rosenberg Show on 640-AM Sports that he was "upset" about the team's decision to cut Johnson despite allegedly head-butting his wife over the weekend.

"It's going to be a bigger distraction because we let him go," Dansby said. "He didn't get that third strike. That's just me personally. ... We've been through worse. We've seen worse.

"That's not Chad," said Dansby. "If anybody knows Chad, that's not Chad."

Dansby added: "The man don't drink. The man don't smoke. He may clown around but when it comes to football, he's all about football. That's his life. For him to be in this situation, that's unfortunate. And it's out of character."

Dansby said he thought Johnson deserved another chance.

"I just hate we didn't stand behind him," he said. "I know the guys in the locker room would. But the organization felt a totally different way. They probably have more information than we know, and they had to do what they had to do. Still, it's tough to lose a good man."

Dansby also said he believes he speaks for the entire team.

"Everybody loved having him around," he said. "It's just unfortunate."
