Carmine Lane of Loxahatchee Groves is hitting home runs to help raise money for his sick classmate

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A Loxahatchee Groves 12-year-old is using his athletic skill to support a classmate with a rare form of bone cancer.

Carmine Lane is working with 'Home Runs That Help' .

It's a community outreach initiative which is part of the International Power Showcase happening at Marlins Park this week.

Carmine has parterned up with a good friend, 12-year-old Daniella Parra, who was diagnosed with bone cancer a few years ago.

Since then she's been home-schooled and on crutches.

Carmine needs your help raising money and collecting pledges for Daniella who will be spending all of next week in a hospital.
