I think I slept like three hours total last night, but I am up and ready this morning and excited for what's to come.
So far everything has gone off without a hitch. I am feeling so many emotions right now.
Last night I received an email from my cousin Adriana who is just as excited as I am to meet for the first time. She told me her bag was backed and she was ready to make the trip from Varadero to Havana to meet me today.
The Cuba crew from WPTV is looking forward to getting to the island. We still have a lot to do before we are up and running. After getting to Havana we will have to pick up press credentials which we hear could be a long process.
We've already met very interesting people at the airport. One Cuban woman I spoke to at the check-in line told me she was on vacation and just happened to visit the island while the Pope will be there.
I can't wait to hear what the Cuban people have to say and learn about life on the island. Most importantly, excited to meet my family.
Our Cuba adventures are just beginning. Next stop, paradise!
