A Dutch man who joked on Facebook about his Malaysian Airlines flight going missing is now feared dead after the tragic crash Thursday over Ukraine.
The passenger, who has been identified by media outlets as Cor Pan, posted a picture of flight MH17 with the caption: ‘If we disappear, this is what the plane looks like.’
The post was in reference to another Malaysian Airlines flight, MH370, which vanished on March 8.
Seven hours after posting the message, MH17 was shot down in eastern Ukraine and it's feared he was on board.
The heartbreaking comments left on the post read as a timeline of the grief of his family and friends.
The airline nor Dutch officials have confirmed if Pan was a passenger on the plane.
Malaysia Airlines was able to give a breakdown of the known nationalities of the passengers: 154 were Dutch, 27 were Australians, 28 were Malaysians, 12 were Indonesian, nine were from the United Kingdom, four were from Germany; four were from Belgium, three were from the Philippines and one was Canadian.
Authorities are still trying to determine the nationalities of the other passengers.
