(CNN) -- A bomb blast killed five coalition service members in southern Afghanistan Saturday, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said.
It was a roadside explosion in the Maiwand district of Kandahar province that killed the service members, said Javid Faisal, spokesman for the provincial governor.
Their nationalities were not immediately known, but the majority of ISAF forces in the region are American, the spokesman said.
