SWANTON, Md. - Maryland Department of Natural Resources officers removed a family of bears, hibernating under a house near Deep Creek Lake.
DNR officials tranquilized the mother bear, so they could move the family. When the mother bear was shot, she woke up and took off, eventually falling down in the middle of the woods.
With the mother gone, workers held the cubs to keep them warm.
The family of bears was then moved to a location away from the house.
